Day 1. Ulaanbaatar

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. City tour including a visit to the Gandan Monastery with its 26 m high gold-plated statue of Megjid Janraisig. Afterwards an excursion to the National History Museum, where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from the Stone Age to the present, and displays of the development of Mongolian arts and culture. Visit to the Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. Accommodation in a three or four star hotel.

Day 2. Ulaanbaatar - Karakorum
Early morning drive to the ancient city of Karakorum. Arrive in the Karakorum base camp in the late afternoon.Overnight in ger camp. Visit Erdene-Zuu, once one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia and almost totally destroyed in the 1930s. Tour of the monastery grounds and several chapels with excellent examples of Buddhist iconography dating from the 16th century. Visit to the symbolic ruins of Karakorum, the 13th century imperial capital of the Mongol Empire. Overnight in the Ger camp.

Day 3. Karakorum – Tsenkheriin Jiguur Hot Spa
Drive to Tsenheriin Jiguur Hot Springs. Lunch in our Tsenheriin Jiguur camp. In the afternoon relax in a hot spa and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of these famous springs. Overnight in camp.

Day 4. Tsenkheriin Jiguur - Taikhar Chuluu Rock
Drive to Tsetserleg town. Short city tour: visit of Zaya Gegeen monastery and it’s ethnic museum. Further drive to Taikhar Chuluu Rock at the bank of Tamir river and visit of “Deer Stones” at Mt.Bulgan. Camp installation and tented overnight.

Day 5. Taikhar Chuluu Rock - Horgo/Terhiin Tsagaan Lake
Start drive to the extinct volcano called Horgo Mountain. Easy trekking to the volcanic crater, and back in time to enjoy the nearby Terhiin Tsagaan Lake. Overnight in tent.

Day 6. Horgo/Terhiin Tsagaan Lake
Spend the day around the beautiful Terhiin Tsagaan Lake. Overnight in tent.

Day 7. Terhiin Tsagaan Lake – Dzuun Lake
Start driving to Dzuun Lake. Tented night near lake.

Day 8. Dzuun Lake – Jar galant – Erhil Lake
Continue driving to Khuvsgul through Jargalant sum and stop for night at Erhil Lake. Explore the lake area in hiking. Tented overnight.

Day 9. Erhil Lake – Khuvsgul
Early morning drive towards the Huvsgul Lake, the “Dark Blue Pearl of Mongolia”. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 10. Khuvsgul
After breakfast, trekking around Khuvsgul Lake. Horse riding and a visit to a local nomadic family. Overnight in camp.

Day 11. Khuvsgul - Ulaanbaatar
Transfer to Murun and further flight back to UB. After lunch visit of Zanabazar Fine Arts Museum.

Day 12. Ulaanbaatar
Visit the Bogd Khan Winter Palace Museum, the home of the last Khan of Mongolia, who ruled the country until 1924. In the evening the folklore music and dance performance. Overnight in hotel.

Day 13. Ulaanbaatar
Transfer to airport for departure.
