Two Metro Vancouver women with no mechanical skills plan to drive a car with a one-litre engine more than 16,000 kilometres through restricted borders and across deserts and mountainous terrain this summer.

Their team, 3 Blondes and a Beater, will drive from London, England to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in an attempt to raise at least $2,000 for two Mongolian charities.

Romanda Simpson and Amanda Howes' third companion will be a blond blow-up doll they've dubbed Suzie Q. A third friend cancelled after they'd registered their team name.
