Apparently, what was mistaken for space objects at first, were parts of the U.S. delivery rocket Delta-II that launched the military STSS Demo 1 & 2 satellites on Sept. 25, 2009 from Cape Canaveral station in Florida, the United States. According to a working group that investigated the crash site, the larger of the two objects was a liquid fuel tank and is marked with the serial number '02728.'
