JICA has presented it's plans for Ulaanbaatar's urban development to 2030 to the Mongolian Government.
The plan proposes a high-density city model, with major apartment construction and ger district demolition, serviced by underground light rail. Decentralised residential, commercial, education, recreation and financial activity districts are proposed, replacing current mixed use areas including in the city centre.
